Marlene Rapues, Operations Manager
Marlene graduated with a BA in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Washington. Locally, she has worked for United Way of King County and the UW's Student Housing Affairs Office.
Marlene is originally from Hawaii where she worked in property management for several years before landing her first non-profit job by accident. Her last gig before leaving the islands was Special Events/Volunteer Coordinator for Moanalua Gardens Foundation. She was responsible for fundraising and volunteer recruitment and training, as well as organizing many events throughout the year. The best part of her job, however, was organizing the annual "Prince Lot Hula Festival," which is the largest free hula event in Hawai`i performed on a natural setting.
She lives in Lake Stevens and claims not to mind the long commute on the plush buses that travels up north. Aside from her dog, she also loves to travel internationally and has recently discovered that she's a Formula 1 enthusiast.
