Family Service Group

The SVP Family Service Group was started in April 2007 by a small group of partners who want their children to experience giving back to the community through a variety of family-appropriate volunteer opportunities, including:

• working directly with people in need (perhaps at a soup kitchen or nursing home)
• working behind the scenes (at a food bank or other social service provider)
• working outdoors on environmental stewardship projects (trail maintenance, tree planting, stream and habitat restoration)

Each volunteer experience includes an introduction to the partner organization and a brief discussion of how SVP families’ efforts contribute to their mission.

Vision: A community of partners engaged in raising compassionate and socially responsible children.

Mission: The SVP Family Service group develops family philanthropy by building community among partners and their children, engaging in family-centered service projects and providing opportunities to learn from experts and share best practices and resources with each other.
