Application Procedures
Please submit a letter of inquiry addressed to the SVP Grant Committee. The letter must not exceed two pages in length and should not include attachments. Please include the following information:
- Overview: Provide a brief summary of your organization’s mission, history and programs.

Program: Provide a summary of your program(s) that fit the specific grantmaking area you are applying for. Specifically, summarize the program goals and outcomes you intend to achieve in this funding area, both short-term (over the next year) and long-term (over three to five years). If you run several such programs, please describe program outcomes for your largest two programs.

Organizational Capacity-Building: Describe and prioritize your near-term (one year) and long-term (three to five year) capacity-building needs. What will you need to strengthen or develop at the organization level in order to achieve the program goals above? Where could you use SVP consulting resources? Please refer to SVP’s philosophy and SVP Capacity Building Model document.

Budget and staff figures: Provide a) grant amount requested from SVP for the year in which funding will be requested, b) current budget for your organization, c) current budget(s) for the SVP funding area program(s), d) total amount your organization spent for the most recently completed fiscal year, e) total amount spent on SVP funding area programs for the most recently completed fiscal year, f) total staff size. Please provide total dollar amounts, not line-item details.
Submit Letter of Inquiry
Email letters of inquiry to info@svpseattle.org, and make sure to include email and phone contact information in the actual letter. If you cannot email the letter, please fax to (206) 728-0552 or mail to SVP, 1601 2nd Ave., Suite 605, Seattle, WA, 98101. Letters must be received by 5:00 p.m. by the Letter of Inquiry deadline.
SVP will acknowledge letters and invite full proposals (eight pages plus a site visit) from a selected number of applicants. SVP will not accept unsolicited proposals.
