Help CIS WA with Online Collaboration and Website Specification Planning
Communities In Schools of Washington State is a capacity building organization supporting a network of twelve local CIS affiliates throughout Washington State. These affiliates partner directly with their community and school district to achieve a measurable impact on drop out prevention, increased school attendance and graduation rates, and improved academic performance.
CISWA is seeking an experienced IT volunteer(s) with a strong understanding of current and emerging technologies around collaboration and communication to help them plan two projects: this can be broken into two distinct projects as well.
- To develop functional requirements specifications for the CISWA state office website and a set of state office hosted template based affiliate websites (12). The current websites are of limited functionality and difficult to navigate and maintain. What are the essential functions of the state website? Affiliate websites? What other features would be nice to have now or in the future?
- To develop functional requirements specifications for an internal collaboration tool to support the CIS network to increase collaboration and communication between the State Office and the 12 affiliates. Currently the CISWA network uses phone and email to communicate, share materials and collaborate with each other. How can/should new technology be used to encourage deeper collaboration and improve efficiency? What functionality would be of greater use and impact throughout the network?
More information available upon request.
Anticipated Dates: January 2012 - April 2012
