A number of SVP Partners and community members sharing interests and responsibilities meet on a regular basis.  Anyone is welcome to drop in.

If you’re interested, simply send an email to the organizer (listed below), and they will provide you with upcoming dates.  If you’d like to start your own group, please contact Sofia Michelakis.

Collective Action Teams

SVP has two Collective Action Teams, one focused on the environment and the other on education.  These groups are newly formed, and are exploring opportunities to align and support collaborative efforts among key players in early learning, education, and the environment. If you’re interested, contact Sally Gillis.

Crossover Leaders

This group provides peer support and a forum for regular discussions among people considering a move from the for-profit to the nonprofit sector.  If you’re interested, contact Paul Shoemaker.

CrossED Over Leaders

Much like crossover leaders, this group provides peer support and discussions for people who have made the transition from the for-profit to the nonprofit sector and are navigating new waters.  If you’re interested, contact Paul Shoemaker.

Family Service Group

The Family Service Group brings together SVP Partners and their families for service projects that kids of all ages can participate in.  Parents also gather for educational sessions and discussions about raising compassionate children. If you would like to receive volunteer opportunities via email, contact Sofia Michelakis or check our calendar.

Grant Committees

SVP Grant Committees meet regularly throughout the grant cycle (September-June).  Meetings range from discussions with panels of experts on early learning, education, youth development or the environment, to site visits with potential Investees, to conversations regarding SVP’s funding model.  If you’re interested, contact Mike Quinn.

Portfolio Grant Committee

The Portfolio Grant Committee oversees our ongoing funding relationships with all of our Investees.  They meet from September-June, sometimes with our Investees to discuss progress on annual work plans, and sometimes on their own to discuss ways to increase our impact with our Investees.  If you’re interested, contact Lynn Coriano.
