Investee Case Studies
Investee Case Studies
The following case studies provide an in-depth look at how funding partnerships impact both nonprofit Investees and the SVP Partners.
Washington State Courage to Teach (WaCTT) (pdf) – SVP’s impact on WaCTT was both broad and deep. The financial support allowed WaCTT to focus on solidifying their programming. SVP’s technical assistance and organizational development support was instrumental in creating an environment that allowed for:
- steady growth
- increased visibility across the region
- expansion of program offerings
- increase in staff
- continued high satisfaction ratings from customers
- development of technical and business systems to increase efficiency
- success at attracting donors and supporters
- remarkable stories of impact WaCTT had on people’s lives
Children's Services of Sno-Valley Case Study (CSSV) (pdf) - SVP invested in a number of capacity-building projects for CSSV that resulted in an improved technology infrastructure, a successful re-branding process and an increased understanding of organizational development among CSSV leaders. These changes have left CSSV in a stronger position to continue to grow and adapt to their constituents’ needs.
Institute for Family Development Case Study (IFD) (pdf) – Through IFD’s determined and strategic use of SVP volunteers and contacts PACT (Parents and Children Together) benefited, along with the rest of IFD’s programs, from the greatly improved technology infrastructure and marketing capabilities facilitated by SVP. In addition, SVP impacted IFD by funding the PACT program long enough to give them a large enough client sample size to demonstrate the validity of their positive outcomes for families.
Talbot Hill Case Study (pdf) – Over the course of the five-year relationship with Talbot Hill, the crux of the impact SVP had was with the eight SVP volunteers who focused on building the capacity of the organization. SVP worked with Talbot Hill in many areas of capacity-building such as board development, fund development, evaluation and outcomes planning, strategic planning and leadership development.
New Futures Case Study (pdf) – New Futures was selected as an Investee in SVP’s very first grant cycle. At the end of the five-year partnership, both New Futures and SVP were dramatically different and improved organizations. The story of the relationship—long-term, highly-engaged, goals-driven, capacity focused—yields many lessons to be learned for other organizations entering into similar relationships.
Youth Tutoring Program (pdf) – The five-year relationship between SVP and YTP resulted in significant gains in technology, marketing, fund development and improvements in program quality at the tutoring centers.
