Description
Spring is on the horizon and that means the CHS Annual Community Connections Dinner and Auction is just around the corner. Save the Date for Saturday, March 6th when more than 450 participants will gather in the Beautiful Lynnwood Convention Center to Be the Difference our communities need. The 2009 event enticed the more than 400 attendees to contribute over $117,000 toward sustaining the valuable services that CHS brings to the community.

Friends, neighbors, family, colleagues and dignitaries alike purchased over 100 fabulous silent auction items and more than 20 incredible live items including a one of a kind and custom made pendant from Gordon Welch Jewelers, a Mariners package with oodles of event passes and more from contributors including board members Colleen Blake and Olga Perelman, and RH2 Engineering, Pies of the Month from former trustee Lois Trickey, and an Ocean Sunset Getaway from former trustee Scott Saunders. This year bidders will vie for similar packages as well as :

Wine County Getaway - Ken and Pearl Noreen
James Alan Salon Package - Matthew Fairfax, Owner
Flip Flop Lemon Drop Ladies House Party - Shauna Wendt, Board Member
Lynnwood Convention Center's Chef's Table - Lynnwood Convention Center

CHS believes that the most critical element to strengthen a community is to support individuals with preventive and responsive culturally competent programs. CHS has accomplished this strengths-based, integrated approach by encouraging clients' and participants' personal success through creating opportunities so that they may develop individual skill. In order to acknowledge and respond to basic needs, CHS works with children, youth, and adults, both individually and with their families, to empower participants so that they may identify and draw upon their strengths and capacity for growth. The outcome is that individuals create personal change. CHS staff, board and volunteers contribute to a healthy and vibrant community by encouraging positive mental health, preventing and treating addictions, supporting youth academic success, assisting parents' engagement in their children's learning, and strengthening relationships and parenting skills.
