More about Anthony via Thought Ensemble
Ever since I can remember I have been infatuated with the unique way in which businesses from different industries generate revenue. Once, I met someone who owned a box company and thought, “How do they do it? How are they making money? It’s just boxes!” But I quickly understood the many moving parts and it completely changed the way I looked at businesses. While each business challenge is unique, scalability and rapid growth are two areas I typically focus on from a strategy and technology perspective.
My love for technology came to me accidentally. The first company I started needed a web site and I decided to take on this adventure by myself. I purchased a book on HTML and started developing my own website. After I sold that company, I decided I wanted to pursue a career in software engineering. I spent a few years at Microsoft Corporation as a software engineer on the Windows operating system, but I soon found myself missing the entrepreneurial life.
I left Microsoft and started my first technology company, an IT consulting firm focused on embedded development (the pre-cursor to mobility). Since then, my endeavors have been more product focused, but I always remembered how much I enjoyed IT consulting. I would frequently think about what it would be like to do it again. Joining Thought Ensemble is my opportunity to re-do it with an amazing team of experienced IT strategy consultants, but this time with a few more years of experience (and lots of fun mistakes) under my belt. Being in consulting again allows me the opportunity to continuously learn new things, and the thought of that excites and drives me. I can’t decide if I am more intrigued by the technology or business side of an organization; my goal at Thought Ensemble is to leverage my understanding and experience of both to increase the overall effectiveness of the entire business.
Anthony’s favorite work or projects include:
- Anything using mobile technologies
- Resolving pain points for business executives by removing the separations between IT and business/sales to increase productivity and lower operational costs
- Anything that someone else says is impossible, too complex to accomplish, or that technology can’t address
