Explorations In Math

Explorations in Math (EIM) helps elementary students succeed in math by creating an engaging math culture in each school where students, teachers and parents work together to help all students succeed in math.

EIM LogoExplorations in Math turns math into a lifelong adventure. By building a culture in elementary schools that showcases math as fun, engaging, and relevant, they unleash every child’s ability to conquer math in his or her own way.  SVP has funded EIM since 2007.

Total Giving: $241,000

Executive Director: Tammie Schacher (LinkedIn)
SVP Lead Partner: Bill Ellis

Recent Highlight: "The investment SVP has made in Explorations in Math in the form of general operating support has allowed EIM the flexibility to shift or adjust depending on the opportunities or constraints we encounter.  Strategic planning maps out a plan but reality doesn’t always follow a set course and adjustments have to be made.  General operating support provides flexibility to respond to these changes.  In addition to SVP’s  financial support, our Lead Partner has been a valuable part of our growth.  Bill Ellis provides ongoing mentorship and business/organizational advice in a caring and respectful manner.  He truly believes in our work and seeing the organization grow successfully.  The combination of these forms of support is unique to SVP and is truly appreciated." --  Tammie Schacher, Executive Director, Most Significant Change Report 2011
