Strengthening Powerful Schools: Sample Capacity Building Projects


In partnership with SVP volunteers and paid consultants, Powerful Schools tackles projects like:

  • Human Resources: Partner Christine Martin helped clarify roles in new organizational structure and identify professional development opportunities.
  • Leadership Development: SVP covered the cost of participation in peer learning group for fund development staff.
  • Marketing & Communications: SVP funded a consultant to work with staff and board to create a marketing plan that aligns with Powerful Schools’ 20th anniversary.
  • Information Technology: Partner Kevin Phaup worked with staff to assess technology and database needs and recommend timeline and tools for implementation.
